Mrs. Amanda Beaver - Assistant Principal

Mrs. Beaver lives in the West Valley with her husband and their 2 young children. They are members of Trinity Lutheran Church and both of their children attend Trinity. Mrs. Beaver holds a bachelor's degree in English Education, a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction, and a Ph.D. in Performance Psychology. She graduated with her Bachelor's in Education from Arizona State in 2008 and began working in middle schools as a classroom teacher. Through her years in education, she has served as a classroom teacher, school leader, and curriculum specialist. She also serves as adjunct faculty for Concordia University's Masters programs. She has worked with students from preschool to the university level. In her free time, she loves to go hiking with her husband and their dogs, bake, and read.

Mrs. Molly Benally

Molly Benally has been teaching here at Trinity since 2001. For eight years, Mrs. Benally taught third grade and has been teaching fifth grade since 2008. She is the fifth grade homeroom teacher and teaches Faith Development to all grades fifth-eighth and Government to eighth grade. Her son, Ben, also attends Trinity Lutheran School. She feels blessed to be a teacher at Trinity and loves sharing the Word of God with the students.

Mrs. Benally is originally from West Union, Iowa, a born and raised farm girl. Mrs. Benally graduated from Iowa State University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education. She became synodically trained in 2004. Molly lives with her husband, Michael, and son, Benjamin. She enjoys spending time with family, watching sporting events, baking, watching movies, playing board games and cards, and traveling. Her family attends Trinity Lutheran Church and is involved in various activities.

Ms. Debbie Blau - Interventions

Teaching and music are Ms. Blau's passion. Her desire is to make learning fun and to instill a lifelong love of learning in children. Ms. Blau has over 25 years of experience teaching in elementary and early childhood classrooms. She holds a B.A. in elementary education from Arizona State University and an M.A. in curriculum and instruction as well as a Lutheran Teacher's Colloquy from Concordia University Irvine. Ms. Blau also loves music and plays the guitar, piano and organ. In her free time, she enjoys teaching piano lessons to children. Ms. Blau is excited to be teaching at Trinity and is looking forward to a great year!

Miss Christina Grace

Miss Christina Grace graduated from Concordia University, Irvine with her BA and Concordia University-Portland, with her Master's in Education with a focus on Trauma and Resilience. Miss Grace has been teaching since 2008 and has experience teaching Kindergarten through 4th grade and has taught in Lutheran schools in California, Nebraska, and Arizona. Miss Grace has a bearded dragon, Bruni, for a class pet who loves children! In her spare time, she likes to hike, play all kinds of sports, read, play handbells, learn new things, and spoil her two cats, Lilo and Stitch. Miss Grace loves being a part of the Trinity family and sharing God's love with everyone!

Mrs. Jody Gurnsey

Mrs. Gurnsey has been teaching since 2000 at Trinity Lutheran Church and School. She taught in the public school system for seven years prior to Trinity. Mrs. Gurnsey graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education at Grand Canyon University. Later in her career, she earned her master’s degree through Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Gurnsey is a synodically trained Lutheran teacher. Mrs. Gurnsey loves teaching and feels it’s a true blessing teaching here at Trinity because she is able to teach others about Jesus’ love and His saving grace.

Mrs. Gurnsey and her husband, Art have two children. Their daughter, Lynda, graduated from University of Arizona. Their son, Andy, recently graduated from Northern Arizona University. Mrs. Gurnsey and her family have been members of Trinity Lutheran Church since 1999.

Mrs. Sherry Haddad

Mrs. Haddad has been teaching Kindergarten at Trinity Lutheran School since 2001. Before Trinity, she worked in Chattanooga, Tennessee at Little Debbie Snack Cakes, and her employer offered her volunteer part-time work in a third grade inner-city school. This opportunity set her heart on fire for teaching!  She also worked in Kindergarten and 5th grade classes in Chattanooga. She also enjoyed doing mission work with her family in Liberia, Africa during high school years. Mrs. Haddad is happiest using the gifts the Lord provided her, teaching His Word and sharing the Gospel with His children every day! Mrs. Haddad feels so blessed to be allowed to do this freely!

 
Mrs. Haddad earned her Bachelor of Science teaching certification through the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She is Arizona State certified to teach Kindergarten-8th grade, has her ESL endorsement and is keeping her credentials updated through the State of Arizona.

Mrs. Gwen Irby - Library

Mrs. Irby has been part of the Trinity Lutheran School staff since July 2014. She runs the school library. Mrs. Irby built the website from the ground up keeps it updated. Mrs. Irby is the editior of Trinity Lutheran School News, the weekly school newsletter. Gwen has a graphic design background has created a lot of the spirit shirt designs. Gwen and her husband Doug were blessed to have had their sons attend Trinity Lutheran School from Preschool through 8th Grade.

Mr. Bob Koehne

Mr. Koehne (pronounced Kane) is excited to join the faculty at Trinity for the 2021-2022 school year. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and a Master’s in Education from Concordia University, Chicago. He has 23 years of experience in school as a teacher, coach, and administrator, and is returning to teaching after taking a year away from education to work in the field of mental health. Mr. Koehne has been married to his wife, Mia, for over twenty seven years. Mia is a Christian singer/songwriter/speaker. She loves to lead worship at churches and also sings at Christian concerts in the area. Mia is a co-founder of Aspire Women Events and currently spends many weekends traveling around the country as a worship leader and speaker with Aspire. They have three wonderful adult children who were all married in 2018. Mr. Koehne and Mia have 3 grandchildren and they absolutely love their role as grandparents. During his year away from working in education Mr. Koehne realized how much he missed being a part of Lutheran education. He is  looking forward to being a part of the Trinity family and working with all of the teachers and students. He holds on to something his late father-in-law taught him from his 50 years in Lutheran education. He told him that his goal every day was to look at each student in his classroom as a redeemed child of God, and that is the lens he will use to view every student at Trinity.

Mrs. Jamie Lopez - Interventions

Mrs. Lopez was both born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education, allowing her to be a certified teacher in both general and special education classrooms. She has worked in the field of Autism with children ranging from ages two to eighteen for the last nine years. Using the principles of Applied Behavioral Analysis, she was able to aid children in their inclusion of classrooms, camps, and playdates. She enjoys being a part of the classroom and seeing all children learn and grow. Mrs. Lopez and her high school sweetheart, Anthony, have been married for two years. They recently added a golden doodle puppy to their family. His name is Charlie, and he definitely keeps them on their toes. Some of her favorite things to do in her spare time are spending time with her family, traveling to the beach, hiking, and baking. Over the last four years, Mrs. Lopez has felt so blessed to be a member of the Trinity Community and truly feels called to share God’s word and His love with everyone at Trinity. Mrs. Lopez is our resource coordinator and teaches 2nd grade in the afternoons.

Mrs. Ashlee Luber

Ashlee Luber is from Bastrop, Texas, a small town outside of Austin. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in early education. Her family moved to Arizona from Goldsboro, NC where she taught 3rd grade for two years and 4th grade for one.

Mrs. Luber’s husband is a pilot for the United States Air Force. Together they have two energetic preschoolers: a son, Finley and daughter Ainsley. Her three favorite things in life are God, family, and teaching. Teaching is truly a passion she has had since she was a little girl, and she feels so blessed that God has guided her to Trinity. Mrs. Luber is looking forward to a fantastic year full of lots of learning and new adventures in third grade.

Mrs. Anita Mosley - Grammar / Literature

Mrs. Mosley teaches Fifth-Eighth Grade Writing/Grammar, Literature, Geography and World History II. Mrs. Mosley taught Fourth Grade for five years, and Kindergarten for 13 years. She began her teaching career as a pre-Kindergarten teacher for over two years. She has taught at Trinity since 1991! Mrs. Mosley continues to search for ways to engage students in learning that will grow their potential successes in High School and beyond.

Teaching has always been Mrs. Mosley’s passion! She has been blessed to be called to teach with Jesus by her side, here at Trinity Lutheran School. Mrs. Mosley’s philosophy of education is that every student has the ability to learn, and learn well when encouraged to be the best they can be in God’s world. God created each student in His image and as such the students and the teacher work together to make the classroom atmosphere one of independence, high order learning and expectations, and devotion to God’s Word.

Mrs. Mosley has a Master’s Degree in Elementary; a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in English/Writing and History. She has also earned her Colloquy in Lutheran Education. Her education and experiences have taught her much about how valuable classroom management and teacher to teacher, student, and family relationships are. Every day is a new experience as learning and faith walk hand-in-hand.

Mrs. Mosley and her husband, Rob, have been married for over 40 years. They have two adult daughters, who were both raised at Trinity Lutheran Church. Anna, the eldest, is a Physical Therapist doctor. Beth, the youngest, is a Dental Hygienist. Mrs. Mosley and her husband have one granddaughter, Kennedy..

Mrs. Kenna Neville - Physical Education

Kenna Neville, is 5th generation Arizona native, and a graduate of Tolleson Union High School. She attended South Mountain Community College, played basketball and softball on a scholarship, then transferred to Northern Arizona University to complete her degree. Mrs. Neville has a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Physical Education. After graduating and marrying the love of her life, Trent, she accepted a teaching position as a Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Neville’s passion for early childhood development kept her teaching Kindergarten for more than 6 years. She then began teaching Physical Education in the Litchfield School District. Mrs. Neville began teaching Physical Education at Trinity Lutheran School in 2010. Her love for sports and games has blessed her with the “World’s Greatest Job!” As the PE teacher she is so grateful to have such an amazing job, and can talk about Jesus whenever she wants!

Mrs. Brenda Powell

Mrs. Powell is joining the Trinity faculty as one of our first grade teachers. She graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, and also graduated from Arizona State University with a Masters in Education. Mrs. Powell has taught elementary school in Arizona, for the DOD in Japan, and at a private school in Hawaii. She and her husband, Hunter, are originally from Georgia and have been moving all over the world for the last sixteen years while he serves in the Air Force. They have been stationed in Arizona three times now and are excited to settle down for a while. All three of their children, Kate, Samantha and Ryan, will be attending Trinity and have all attended preschool at Trinity in the past. They love the joyful experiences that they have had at Trinity and are looking forward to new ones. Mrs. Powell loves God, her family and teaching and can’t think of a better place to incorporate all three. In addition to taking care of her family, Mrs. Powell loves to go for a jog or a hike, cook up a new recipe, travel or relax and watch HGTV! She is looking forward to the new school year and all that God has in store for herself, her family and her students.

Mrs. Melissa Woodward

Mrs. Woodward has been teaching at Trinity Lutheran since 2007. She has taught fifth grade, second/third combination, second grade, and is currently teaching fourth grade. Mrs. Woodward has also taught first and second grade music. She has been a volleyball, basketball, and running club coach. She is a leader in utilizing technology and new thinking in the classroom, and strives to continue her professional development as an AZ certified educator. 

Mrs. Woodward attended a Lutheran Elementary and High School near Waconia, Minnesota. She attended Concordia University in St Paul, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Language Arts and Theology.
 
Mrs. Woodward and her husband, Tyler, moved to Arizona where God called her to serve at Trinity Lutheran Church and School. She has two sons, Alexander and Jeremiah. They live in Goodyear with their dog, Samson. In her free time, Mrs. Woodward loves to stay active playing volleyball, walking, or going to the gym. She and her family enjoy cooking together, hiking, going to movies, and being active at Trinity Lutheran Church.
